Regional election for Associate Region 10 Councillor

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Region 10 Nominating Committee are now accepting applications for the upcoming regional election for the Region 10 Associate Councillor. The Associate Regional Councillor will assist the Regional Councillor with regional activities, provide leadership to the region in the absence of the Regional Councillor, and participate in all regional meetings. The Associate Regional Councillor will also serve on the OPTN’s Membership and Professional Standards Committee (MPSC) for two years and then rotate onto the Board as a Regional Councillor.

There is a vacancy for the Associate Region 10 Councillor position. The previously elected Associate Region 10 Councillor, Austin Schenk, MD, PhD, FACS, assumed the role of Region 10 Councillor on July 1, 2025, after the previously elected Region 10 Councillor, John Magee, MD, assumed the role of President of the Board.

A regional election will be held from Wednesday, September 3, 2025, through Wednesday, September 10, 2025, to fill this vacancy. Applications to be considered as Associate Region 10 Councillor will be accepted through Wednesday, August 13, 2025. More information on the regional election can be found here.
