Nominations sought for the OPTN’s Transitional Nominating Committee

HRSA is forming a Transitional Nominating Committee to establish a new OPTN Board of Directors. The Committee needs experts in governance, health system change, ethics, IT modernization, and health equity, including transplant surgeons, physicians, coordinators, OPOs, hospitals, and individuals involved in transplantation.

Committee Role: Ensure the Special Election process is open and transparent.

Nomination Criteria: Cannot currently serve or have served on the OPTN Board in the last 10 years. No conflicts of interest or special interests in the procurement and transplantation system.

Responsibilities: Refine and finalize nomination and election processes for the OPTN Board. Interact with HRSA and the board support contractor.

Time Commitment: Weekly virtual meetings through April 2025. Voluntary position.
