Implementation of kidney and pancreas policies

On Dec. 14, 2020, the changes to allocation that were scheduled to be implemented on Dec. 15 were postponed at the direction of the Health Resources and Services Administration. Read more about the action here.

On Jan. 4, 2021, the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network provided HRSA information for their consideration as they reviewed two critical comments.

HRSA has responded to the critical comments. At this time, the expected date for implementation of the policies, absent Court intervention, is March 14, 2021.

Organ procurement organizations and kidney and pancreas transplant programs should continue to follow the match run generated in UNet℠ for donors and potential recipients of these organs. Please contact member.questions@unos.org with any questions.
