Kidney paired donation for patients

Kidney paired donation (KPD) is a transplant option for those waiting for a kidney transplant. It is for patients who have a willing living donor.
The Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) operates a national KPD pilot system. United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), as the OPTN contractor, administers this system, which is open to all OPTN-approved transplant programs that perform living donor kidney transplants.
